Explain the operating leverage in a streaming business - why is content largely a fixed cost, and what does that imply for the path to profitability?

Model answer
A streamer's content budget does not rise with each incremental subscriber - the same library serves 10M or 200M subs - so content is substantially FIXED, and incremental subscription revenue arrives at very high incremental margin (only delivery, payment, and support costs scale). That creates a scale game: below a critical subscriber base, fixed content costs swamp revenue and losses look structural; past it, margins expand rapidly because each new sub is nearly pure contribution. Implications
- profitability is mostly a question of scale versus content budget, so sub-scale services rationally merge or license out
- global amortization of the same content is a structural advantage
- the flywheel cuts both ways - subscriber losses hit profit disproportionately because costs do not fall with them.
